ABOUT

ESATROLL SA

Esatroll SA is a Swiss law regulated company that was founded in 1995 with the aim of developing and producing highly technological machinery and devices for the industrial sector.

The company’s present day production is based on several families of intelligent vehicles capable of handling boxes, containers and pallets.

The capacity of these vehicles (capable of handling from 200 Kg to 20 tons both on loading platforms and fork lifts) is truly remarkable: night shift, possibility of working outdoors (granted that the pavement is reasonably even and smooth) extremely high productivity.

Esatroll will thus be glad to help our customers make the right choice both in terms of the mechanics and of the navigation control system.

In 2004, Esatroll entered the sector of intensive warehousing producing a battery powered drive-in shuttle (Talp-one).

In 2007 the Quad-lift was designed, an original project consisting in a 8 wheels mini stacker crane with Quadrex patented technology.

Esatroll furthermore offers consulting in the selection and writing of software in the sphere of the automation environment (in industry, railways) and in telecommunications.

Some of our clients such as General Electric, the Saint Gobain group, Osram, YKK, Madel, Mac Donald, DalColle, Henkel ect. are a guarantee of the quality of our product and of its reliability.

OUR

TECHNOLOGY

We provide three kinds of navigation control: laser, inertial and wire-guided.

The "laser" system consists in a rotating laser head capable of detecting the position of reflective targets positioned on the walls and consequently of calculating the vehicle’s exact position in space. This system is especially recommended when the vehicle must handle materials carrying out repetitive manoeuvres in an environment that doesn’t provide much room. At the moment, Esatroll essentially uses the ANT laser navigation system, which has been developed ( to be used in AGVs) in collaboration with Bluebotics, Lausanne s.a. (Switzerland). The principle on which the ANT system is based is the determination of its own position in reference to basic points in the surrounding working environment (walls, machinery, plinths ect.). In such a way, it is unnecessary to install other kinds of markers in the working scenario.

The "inertial" system, on the other hand, is based on spatial information processed by an onboard gyro andby encoders connected to the wheels. This system is recommended in all those applications in which the vehicle must move around outdoors or in situations in which overlapping pallets, shelving or other obstacles would make it difficult to position reflective targets on walls or to detect the walls themselves.

For very simple applications we offer the "wire-guided" system. In this case, a magnetic sensor under the vehicle detects the RF signal trasmitting from a wire placed in a slot below the floor surface and guides the vehicle along the right route.
